Boulders Beach (Penguins)

DISTANCE: 16 km (Simon’s Town)

Cape Town offers beautiful white, sandy beaches on both the Atlantic and False Bay sides of the Cape Peninsula. Boulder’s Beach in Simon’s Town is one such beach. It is home to a breeding colony of over 2,000 endangered African Penguins and is part of South African National Parks.

You pay to visit the penguins but you can also go to the swimming beach for free.

Cape Point


A declared National World Heritage Site, Cape Point is a nature reserve in the Table Mountain National Park at the tip of the Cape Peninsula about 60km South-West from Cape Town.

You can drive around the point or you can take a cruise. On a cruise you may be lucky and spot whales en route (in season) and you will have a spectacular view of Cape Point from offshore.


Shark Cage Diving

The shark cage dive takes place out at Dyer Island, roughly 15 minutes by boat from Gansbaai. Running between Dyer and neighbouring Geyser Rock is a channel of ocean so frequented by great white sharks that it has been dubbed ‘Shark Alley’.
